The mystery of the barren blog
You may well have been wondering where I’ve disappeared to and I must apologise for the lack of posts on the blog over the summer months.
Due to a sudden family illness and an impending house move, I’ve hardly been able to find the time to switch on the computer, let alone keep abreast of what’s been going on on eBay! However, the invalid is now on the road to recovery and the house move should be complete by the middle of next month so hopefully life will soon be back to normal (ie, organised chaos as opposed to total chaos!).
As the holiday season is fast approaching, I will be doing regular checks on eBay to see what items emerge as this year’s hot products and, of course, I will be sharing this information with you here.
This is traditionally the most lucrative time of year for sellers both online and offline but due to the recession, credit crunch, economic downturn - call it what you will - many people may well be somewhat more reluctant to ’splash the cash’ this year than they have in the past. This makes it more important than ever to keep your finger on the pulse and be aware of current buying trends.
On a positive note, a survey recently conducted on behalf of Stores Magazine showed eBay second only to Amazon in the Favourite 50 Online Retailers list. The number of consumers doing their shopping online over the holiday season has been growing year on year and there is no reason to suspect that this won’t continue in spite of the current financial turmoil.
I hope you all manage to grab yourselves a decent slice of the pie, and I will be doing my best to bring you relevant information to help you on your way so please add us to your favourites if you haven’t already done so.
